Judging by the timestamp on the filename this one is the first recording of this idea. It was not included at first but I think it has a few unique interesting details in the non-metal beginning. Other chords...
One day I came up with a riff that I for now call the "Ozzy riff" because it features clean but witchy vocals (or so is my vision about it) and I really liked it, I recorded it and it floated it my head for a few days after I came up with it. Unfortunately it was orphan, it was probably going to be a verse and I needed a chorus to pair with it.
Because I like to compose by vision, let the power of my subconsciousness do the job for me I tried to play the song in my head and come up with a suite this way. Eventually, after thinking about it for a while a suite emerged, however it felt like what I was hearing in my head as the suite, the response to the "Ozzy riff" was something I knew something I must have composed or jammed before but I didnt realize that this something was actually already recorded and published in here under the name "Doom Impédant".
So I practiced the song like this trying to marry the Ozzy riff with my imperfect memory of Doom Impédant. But I was never fully able to figure what should the last part of the riff be.
One day I was trying to listen to another of my ideas which I was not sure how I called it and while listening to a bunch of my idea I stumbled on this and I was shocked to realize that this was it! That other part to the Ozzy riff was already recorded here and the ending was perfect!
I still have to record the Ozzy riff married with the proper Doom Impédant. Coming soon!!
At this point I have still not heard the original version of Doom Impédant so I am not finishing the chorus riff exactly as I should but still it gives a good idea of what marrying the Ozzy riff and the Doom Impédant sounds like.
This is the latest of me rehearsing the "Ozzy" song. Im not sure yet but there are some chances that this will be the next song I record.
The composition is starting to take shape and become a simple but complete little song. Very hard and very slow. I think it is also starting to sound like "Atmospheric Black Metal" which is not surprising because I have been listening to a lot of that lately. I particularly like the new ending.
For the vocals I am trying to push my bm vox higher in this one and I like the effect I find it fits in the song but I still have difficulty mastering the technique. I will have to keep working on that!
The orginal version of this video was uploaded but while it played fine on my computer, it played badly in the web browser. I figured it may be a question of the ATOM part of the video being at the end so I re-encoded this with VLC which solves this but also makes the file smaller.
This is not much of a song idea but really just a jam, its is fully improvised and kind of pretty much ambiant. Its also a practice of metalish voice accompanied with random smooth dark depressish music.
Jam Ancestral, fully improvised but still kinda chill
